Run Leader

I had never found a sport I enjoyed until I started running in 2014 to help my mental health (and get time away from my children who were quite young at the time!) When I first started running I couldn’t even run to the end of my road without having to stop to walk. But I gradually built this up and ran my first 10k event in 2015. When I was at school I did whatever I could to avoid having to run so my school PE teacher would be shocked to know that I now choose to run for fun and have run multiple half marathons and a couple of trail marathons.

When I moved here in 2021 from the south the first thing I googled was a running club and am glad I picked the Eagles to join. From my first run I knew this was the friendly, supportive club I wanted to belong to. I especially love that runs are organised on different days and times of the week as well as the variety of types of runs on offer. I also love how all the club runs are suitable for everyone, whatever pace you run at. I’ve made lots of close friendships through belonging to the Eagles and when I have lost my running mojo (fairly frequently) there are lots of Eagle friends happy to help me get back on track. The run leaders and coaches are incredibly supportive and have helped me achieve milestones and pbs I never thought I was capable of. Becoming a run leader recently has enabled me to give something back to the club.

I am married to Matt (also an eagle) have 3 children Abi, Zac and Anna and a dog called Luna. I work at All Saints Church where I also spend a large part of my time volunteering in various ways. Other than running I love time with my family, time at the beach, cycling, eating cake and collecting sea glass.
