London Marathon

Big congratulations to Jane Healy who has been awarded our club place for the London Marathon.
Each year a small number of marathon places are given to running clubs that are affiliated with England Athletics. These places are allocated to clubs based on the number of registered members they have, and clubs can then award them to one of their athletes.
Jane has been selected to take this year’s place and will represent the club on the start line in London. It is a special opportunity and recognition of the commitment and contribution she brings to the club.
We are all looking forward to following her training and cheering her on in April. Good luck Jane!
Winter Bingo

A simple way to stay moving through the cold months. Run a bit. Tick a square. Feel smug. There is no real prize except bragging rights but that seems to work for us.
Thirsk 10 2026

This is a ten mile race in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. It starts at 10am which is just early enough to make you question your life choices but late enough that you can still have breakfast twice.
The entry fee is £25 which feels about right for the privilege of running for ages while trying to look like you are enjoying yourself.
We want to make a big day of this so it would be great to see loads of Eagles there. The more of us who turn up, the more people we have to complain to afterwards.
